At TII we offer English language courses suited to students of all skill levels. These are run by experienced and qualified teachers who are enthusiastic about helping you develop your knowledge of the English Language.

In this course, students will be introduced to elementary English. Students enrolled at this level take a combination of courses addressing the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. By the end of this course, students will have a basic knowledge of English grammar structures will be able to produce simple English discourse and would be ready to sit the Cambridge KET EXAM. This course will form the basis for further study in either a secondary or tertiary context.

Students will build on the grammatical and vocabulary of the Elementary course. Students enrolled at this level take a combination of courses addressing the four skill areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. By the end of this course students will have expanded their passive and active knowledge of grammar and will be able to produce discursive work with a greater level of complication and confidence. They would be ready to sit the Cambridge PET EXAM and we would expect them to achieve an IELTS overall band score of 5 after an extended study of 4 to 6 months.

In this course students will build on the grammar and vocabulary of the Intermediate Course. Students enrolled in the Advanced level address the four skills areas of listening in academic contexts, speaking in formal settings, reading academic and daily discursive text and writing in academic contexts. By completing this course students will have the skills necessary for negotiating academic discourse in tertiary settings. They would be ready to sit the Cambridge CAE EXAM and we would expect them to achieve an IELTS overall band score of 7 or 8 after an extended study for 4 to 6 months.

You will study reading, writing, listening, speaking, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary and you will learn effective test-taking strategies to succeed in the exam. You will also have access to the IELTS preparation materials in TII.

Whey applying for this programme, you will be given a placement test, including a reading and writing test, to confirm that you are at the appropriate level.
The timetable for this programme is on every school holiday term, 9am - 3pm.
